One Color Abstract

A video companion to the “One Color Abstract” project from Jen’s book, Me & My Ballpoint Pen.
When I was working on the One Color Abstract project for my book, I recorded the entire drawing process and ended up with more than eight hours of footage!
From that marathon of a drawing session, I created this mini course as the perfect companion to the book, not a replacement for it.
By combining the book’s step-by-step text and images with the video demonstrations in this class, you’ll gain a clear, behind-the-scenes understanding of my abstract ballpoint drawing process.
You won’t sit through all eight hours of video (I promise you’d fall asleep!), but you will get about 45 minutes of focused, close-up video, complete with captions and commentary that explain my decisions, techniques, and little tricks along the way.

Hi there. How are you? I'm Jennifer Mullin and I've been making and teaching art for more than 20 years. My current art tool of choice is the humble ballpoint pen. Over years of practice, I developed a unique, abstract drawing style that people really respond to. As I’ve been out of the classroom for years now, It’s been great to dip my toe back into teaching again in this virtual venue. It’s a joy share my skills with students from all over the world!

Jen + Ink in Color is for anyone with an interest to learn a unique ballpoint pen drawing technique. If you're willing to put in the time and the practice, you can learn how to draw abstractly with a ballpoint pen. It is recommended that you take the original “Jen + Ink” course before tackling this one.

All you need is ballpoint pens and some smooth paper. I go into specifics in the course, but do check out this blog post where I share my faves.
